Jane Voisey
Jane Voisey was born on Saturday 16 September 1843. Her parents, William Voisey and Jane Searle were married at St Andrews Church, Collumpton on 2 January 1833. Jane grew up at Pye Corner, next to the Church with her older brothers: Samuel, William, John and her younger sister, Mary.
In 1860 her brother John married Jane Heal, from Oakford. Their first child, Alfred William, was born in Exeter later that year, where John was working as a plumber.
By 1861, the family had moved a short distance to Church Street, Cullompton and Jane's mother had moved into Exeter to help with John's young family. Seventeen year old Jane remained to look after the family in Cullompton where her father and brother were working as cordwainers; father was also Clerk of the Church.
In 1868, at the age of 25, Jane became pregnant.
On 28 January 1869 she gave birth to her son Willie Searle Voisey at 2 Friars Gate, near a Methodist Church, now the Salvation Army Temple, Exeter.
The following year on 4 July 1870, Jane's mother died, aged 60, at home in Cullompton . She was buried in St Andrew's churchyard
On 21 August 1870,Robert Davis, a carpenter born 1843 in
Luccombe, married
Mary Ann Bettenson at Washford, outside Tiverton. Together they had three
children: Elizabeth, Walter and William.
Sadly, Mary Ann and their infant child, William, died at the beginning of
1877. Mary Ann was only 32 years old.
on 8 July 1870.
By 1871 Jane was living in Church Street, Cullompton with her son, Willie and her father William who was now the Parish Clerk.
In 1877 Robert Davis and Jane were married in Tiverton and combined their families. They went to live in Street, Somerset, where their first child, Bessie was born. Robert worked as a carpenter and joiner and by 1881 they had moved to Glastonbury and were living at "The Armory" (a listed building) at the Southern end of Magdalene Street.
Alice Davis was born on 28 August 1883 at Magdalene Street.

Alice Brice formerly Davis may have been born here in 1883; Jane Davis formerly Voisey, died here in 1910 and Albert Cyril Brice was born here in 1913.
The Brice and Waterman families can be traced back at least to the early 19th Century in the area around
Spaxton, West of Bridgewater: John Brice married Sarah Shalish on 27 Mar 1809 at St Peter and Paul, Over Stowey, Somerset
By 1891, Jane's eldest son, 22 year old Willie Searle Voisey had moved to lodgings at 2 High Street Glastonbury. He was working as a draper's assistant and Wesleyan local preacher.
Jane died pulmonary congestion and cardiac failure on Tuesday, 8 March 1910 at 11 Magdalene Street, Glastonbury. She was 66 years old; Robert was with her when she died; they had been married for more than 32 years.
Their daughter, Alice went on to marry Albert Henry Brice in 1912 and Alice gave birth to Albert Cyril Brice on 21 May 1913 at 11 Magdalene Street. By 1921 they had moved to Cheltenham, where they lived at 13 Tivoli Street.
